James Gutierrez recently won Ginoong
Filipinas Luzon 2014. Unlike the other candidates who gamely posed in very
provocative actions and smiled at backstage gay-crashers, this guy seemed to
retain his mystery till the end of the pageant night. One thing that made me
notice him is his facebook posts: guys, this one is intelligent! He is a far
cry from the handsome-but-brainless bikini conteseros who have invaded almost
all bikini competitions in the 7,107 islands of our country. Iba ang batang to!
May ibubuga! Matalino, and oh, he seems to be very comfortable with his color.
James
is a male pageant veteran. Among the pageants he joined in are the Mister
Interclub of General de Jesus College, Ginoong San Isidro where he got biggest
share of the special awards – from Best in Swimwear to Best in Costume to Mister Photogenic to Best in Summer
Wear Sando Attire and Best in Formal Wear. In 2013, he won the right to
represent Nueva Ecija in the Ginoong Filipinas 2014.
And of course, the rest is history.
He is like the younger version of
Jamiel Ventosa. So, I better watch out for this guy in the bigger male
pageants.
