Will there be Manhunt International 2014?

Just a question: Will there be Manhunt International 2014 this year? It seems nothing is heard of this pageant this year and 2014 is already on its last quarter…Have you also noticed that our Philippine representative is no longer visible these days. In the recent Misters of the Philippines 2014 won by Neil Perez of Tondo, not a shadow of our Manhunt Philippines Jamiel Ventosa is seen. Where is he now? Any update?

I am sure that after the non-inclusion of John Spainhour in Mister World 2014, the pinoys who are into male pageantry look-out, are now setting their eyes on our bet for the Manhunt International representative Jamiel Ventosa.

James Gutierrez, Jamiel Ventosa in the Making

James Gutierrez recently won Ginoong Filipinas Luzon 2014. Unlike the other candidates who gamely posed in very provocative actions and smiled at backstage gay-crashers, this guy seemed to retain his mystery till the end of the pageant night. One thing that made me notice him is his facebook posts: guys, this one is intelligent! He is a far cry from the handsome-but-brainless bikini conteseros who have invaded almost all bikini competitions in the 7,107 islands of our country. Iba ang batang to! May ibubuga! Matalino, and oh, he seems to be very comfortable with his color.

  James is a male pageant veteran. Among the pageants he joined in are the Mister Interclub of General de Jesus College, Ginoong San Isidro where he got biggest share of the special awards – from Best in Swimwear to Best in  Costume to Mister Photogenic to Best in Summer Wear Sando Attire and Best in Formal Wear. In 2013, he won the right to represent Nueva Ecija in the Ginoong Filipinas 2014.

And of course, the rest is history.

He is like the younger version of Jamiel Ventosa. So, I better watch out for this guy in the bigger male pageants.

With the winning placement of June Macasaet in the last Manhunt competition back in 2012, a big pressure is indeed put on the shoulder of his successor who will represent the country in the Manhunt 2014 world finals. Jamiel Ventosa is doing all his best to make us proud. I believe he is doing his assignment diligently. Kudos to Jamiel!
