Hot Conversations with Salde L. Singo

Recently, when this controversial photo was posted in our official fb page THE MALE PAGEANTS IN THE PHILIPPINES, I have made it to also regularly share it in my facebook account wall. Now, it created a stir. Some agreed with me while others were half-hearted about the issue. A talent manager claimed that the standing guy was his talent. We exchanged private messages and he insisted that it was truly his talent. But until now, he could not provide me with the original photo. I stand by my ground that it was another person.

Interestingly, a man named Salde L. Singo presented his comment on the issue. What happened next was a wonderful, hot, lively exchange.

 

SALDE  L. SINGO:  My take.. I do not know know why a photo like this should be an issue. In a country like Philippines, there are lots of hypocrites. Nasa loob ang kulo. Pag nakakita ng ganitong klaseng picture, naiiskeandalo. Come on!! Given the opportunity, WE ALL DO THE SAME THING. It is not a CRIME. It is a morality issue and we have different standards, so we should not judge someone to be immoral because we have a different standard. I would rather check someone's police record than someone else's facebook account. Furthermore, other countries have pornstars as candidates and went on to win and eventually succeed. Let us look at ourselves instead of others. We clean our own backyard, not others'.

SALDE L. SINGO: Let us take a clear example. Megan Young was not included in Binibini because of an allegedly racy photo, according to Binibini standard. Miss World took her and she won and gave us pride! Dont judge someone based in a photo. Madami ang balot na balot diyan pero matindi pa sa mga taong naghuhubad. Again if we want change, let us start on ourselves. Hwag tayong double standard, at yung sinasabi natin sa iba e hindi natin ginagawa mismo.

ME: “Given the opportunity, WE ALL DO THE SAME THING. “ – SWEEPING GENERALIZATION. OF COURSE, NOT ALL WILL DO THAT. PERHAPS YOU ARE SPEAKING FOR YOURSELF.

“we should not judge someone to be immoral because we have a different standard.” – LOOK AT THE CAPTION OF THE PHOTO. DID IT MENTION ABOUT IMMORALITY? WALA DI BA. THE CAPTIONS WERE WORDS OF CAUTION.

“I would rather check someone's police record than someone else's facebook account.” – I RESPECT YOUR TRIP. BUT I WOULD RATHER CHECK SOMEONE ELSE’S FACEBOOK ACCOUNT THAN GO TO THE POLICE AND CHECK RECORDS. NAKAILANG PUNTA KA NA BA SA POLICE STATION?

SALDE L. SINGO: you are excusing yourself from every statement. Then why post this if this is not a holier than thou type of post. If your intent is to include "clean image" as a criteria in joining a pageant, i hope your Male pageant pageant page will only feature those with clean image. Hope this request is fair enough. Ang hirap kasi sa tulad mong mapagmalinis, e gawain lng ng iba ng nakikita mo. I think what i said was clear, do not judge, or to be clearer, do not post a pic such as what you did, because it is too hypocritical of you to do that. If you want to advance your cause to have a SAINT to represent us in an international pageant, i wish you luck.

OF COURSE, BEING A MALE PAGEANT BLOGGER IS AN ADVOCACY. SO I MAKE SURE THAT I DON’T ONLY POINT OUT WHAT IS GOOD, BUT WHAT IS ALSO NOT.

IT IS MY JOY IF ORGANIZERS INCLUDE THAT. IF NOT, AT LEAST I HAVE SAID MY PIECE. AND OH, MY PAGE IS JUST AN EXTENTION OF MY BLOG. IF YOU VISIT MY BLOG, YOU WILL SEE THAT I STARTED WITH BIKINI OPEN POSTS, BUT LATER ON SHIFTED TO MAINSTREAM MALE PAGEANTS. BUT EVEN THEN, I HAVE NOT DELETED MY BIKINI OPEN POSTS. THUS, WHEN I SAID THOSE WORDS OF CAUTION, IT HAS A LOOONG HISTORY, AND BASED ON WHAT I SEE, OBSERVED, HEARD – ALL ROLLED IN ONE.

“ If you want to advance your cause to have a SAINT to represent us in an international pageant, i wish you luck.” - I SEND YOU BACK YOUR WISH, BECAUSE IT IS NOT THE CAUSE I ADVANCED.

  

SALDE L. SINGO: i say it again because you dont seem to get the point. Yes your post is not only hypocritical, judgmental and below the belt, it is also in bad taste, holier than thou, insensitive and mostvof all IGNORANT. If you want to become a repected male beauty pageant blogger with good int ention of uplifting their image, i request that you take that photo down. You dont own that photo. You did not give credit to the owner of that photo. You put malice to the picture. I assume you were not there when the people in the photo were having fun. And lastly, you owe them apology. SALDE L. SINGO: Now I am free and I figured the need for you to take some logic 101. First, if one says "the one in the picture is my alaga." , you have to take that. It is you who should prove it otherwise by showing evidence. And I will tell you, you wil establish credibility. Do not make yourself look stupid as you did.

SALDE L. SINGO: Don't make it obvious that you are running out of defense. Prove your point! If you are a blogger, just like YOU claim to be, then be objective, not defensive. If you have got evidence that you are indeed a blogger, people will see that. I hope they are not mere announcements or postings photos and links of pageants. "Hu u? " is that a blogger's language?
