Interview with Rick Kristoffer Palencia, Mr. Tacloban City

Rick Kristoffer Palencia – Tacloban City – 22 years old – 5’10 – Fresh from his victory as Ginoong Leyte 2015 first runner up, Rick is taking one big shot at his second national pageant. He was supposed to join last year, but certain things like Yolanda tragedy made him decide to back out. A certified pageant veteran who also won  Mister Naval State University 2012, he will surely edge over the other candidates in terms of experience and connections. Watch out for in Misters 2015: The Pageant

1. Who convinced you to join Misters 2015?
Since last year I really wanted to join Misters, I'm just glad I could join this year.

2. Is this your first time to join a male pageant?
Nope. I have joined pageants before inside my own city and one national pageant, but it feels like my first time since this is a different kind of pageant.

3. What can you say about the state of male pageants in our country?
I think male pageantry here in our country is slowly rising. There is a bright future waiting for Filipino pageantry.

4. How did you prepare for the screening?
I just tried to stay as fit as I possibly can and condition myself mentally.

5. What are your credentials that will make you stand out?
I think it is my character that will show during the pageant. The deportation I can bring on stage is what's important and giving my all to everyone watching.

6. Of the four titles at stake (International, Global, Model International, Tourism), what do you like?
Global. J

7. Are you ready for the swimwear competition?
Yes, excited.

8. Will be speaking English or Tagalog for the Q and A?
I'm more comfortable in speaking in English but Tagalog is also fine. It really depends on what my heart really feels.

9. Several pageant winners in the country today complained about not getting paid after winning, how important is money in your Misters 2015 participation?
I think prestige and honor is more important. Money could come next. Money can come and go anyway.

10. What can you say to your supporters?
I would like to thank everyone for supporting me. All of you give me strength, from the simple likes and comments you give, it fills my heart with joy and humbles me.
