Meet AJ, Mister Mindanao 2013 Contestant

TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF:

My name is Arbel Joie Doong Janubas, pen name is “AJ”. I am 25 years old, graduated Bachelor In Elementary Education at Ateneo de Cagayan Xavier University. I stand 5’7 and weight of 60 kgs.

WHAT PAGEANTS HAVE YOU PARTICIPATED?

I have participated in a lot of pageants namely Mr. Sexybody Cebu 2011 (2nd Runner up) held in APM Mall Cebu, Cagayan de Oro Bikini Summit 2012 (1st Runner Up/Grand Winner was awarded to me since the winner was declared null and void after the pageant night), Ginoong Filipinas 2013 (Top 20) held in Pope Pios, United Nations Manila.

WHAT KEEPS YOU BUSY TODAY?

I am an on call model for Sunstar Cebu Shopping bag. I had endorsement for Converse, ROX brand and RES-TOE-RUN. I participated in some fashion shows in Cebu and in Manila. The recent one was last March of this year for SM Sta. Mesa Department Store Collection and some wearable designer made collection for a photo shoot. I am currently finishing and taking my Masters Degree at Phinma College, Cagayan de Oro City and that’s keeping me busy for the mean time while waiting for my application to be process in DepEd Region10.

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR DAILY ROUTINE:

I do multi-tasking in a day for my daily routine. I make it a point to be in the gym and shape my body to maintain a healthy body with a fit mind too.

WHAT ARE YOUR LIKES AND DISLIKES:

My likes are simple stuff and gestures; playing badminton, running, watching movies and series, surfing the net, smiles, eating, and sleeping if tired. My dislikes are too many to mention few of them would be; arrogant, annoying and dishonesty people.

WHAT IS YOUR EDGE AS A MR. MINDANAO CANDIDATE?

I believe that my experiences and qualifications make me an ideal candidate for Mr.Mindanao. The key strengths that I possess in this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Strong communication skills Patient and attentive to details’ Self-motivated and resilient Enjoy helping with people Adaptable and eager to learn new things You will find me to be spoken, energetic, and confident and personable. I’ am confident that my skills, as well as my knowledge would indeed be an excellent match for this pageant.

Walter Palomaria, Mister Datu Paglas 2013 (Maguindanao Province) is the province’s bet for the Mister Mindanao 2013 pageant. By the way, there is a monthly voting for Mister Photogenic Award via facebook via Mister and Miss Mindanao Page. Please support him! His total scores will be added till the coronation ball on December 7, 2013 which is worth P5,000 as a special award and will get the chance to advance to the top 12 semi-finalist of Mister Mindanao 2013.

Assalamu allaykum! (peace be with you). I am Walter-Jabar L. Palomaria,22 from Datu Paglas,province of Maguindanao. A proud product of the University of the Immaculate Conception,Davao City with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Busines Administration major in financial management. I am currently working in a bank.


Actually, this is my first time to join this kind of big event though I joined searches during my schooling but mister mindanao is such a prestige pageant that i ever join. I am 5'9" tall with chubby body. I may not fit as other but I assure you that I have a good heart that I could offer to my fellow Mindanaon. I may not be genuis as other but I have a good mind and heart to listen. I may not be perfect as other but I could be a good model to my fellow Mindanaon.

I am very much interested in the opportunity presented in the Mister Mindanao and I believe that my strong experience and enough confidence will make me a very competitive candidate for the event. And I have a full understanding of the life cycle of male pageantry. Though, I am a bit experienced, I am willing to be trained and I have the motivation towards winning.

Greetings, Let me introduce myself.

My name is Ronel Parba. I dedicated my whole life to educate myself as a future effective educator, and I turned 23.

I am a graduated and part time teacher at Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology taking up BS-Secondary Education major in Mathematics and I am Proud as one of the bravest product on this school. I was graduated as a Cardinal Vidal Scholar and was awarded as "Researcher of the Year".

Why did I joined to the Mr. Mindanao? Well, when you get as young and fresh as I am, you’re just about done with competing about the title of achievements in life. I’m also very competent in terms of challenging the world of competition. Not because of my ability but I’ve always been humble, and stay simple facing the people.

One of the most interesting things for me has been meeting people in all different places I’ve visited. In times of distress, you really see how tight each place becomes. If someone is in the trouble, they’re helping out. If someone is lonely, they’re feeling free to mingle. In the calm after the disaster or problems, one thing I was very fond of was connecting with the local organization who helps people who are unfortunate and uneducated people. We’d exchange happiness, so I’d come home with knowledge of how to face all these problems by not losing faith to God and always smile.

That is one goal of mine. I’d love to see people who are very happy and contented of what they have. I’d like to think I’ve done my part, been as useful as possible, and given the best of my abilities while they were sharpest. For now, I’d like to just continue giving advice to younger people and enjoy time with my new friends. I'd love to play DOTA for relaxation. I am fond doing sketching and drawing things.
