Mister International 2016, will be the 11th edition of the Mister International pageant, will be held on February 13, 2017 at The Stage @ Asiatique the Riverfront in Bangkok, Thailand.Pedro Mendes of Switzerland will crown his successor at the end of the event.

The Story Behind the National Costume of Mr. Philippines Limuel Vilela

This is the story behind the national costume of

Mister Philippines Limuel Vilela who competed in

Mister Pacific World 2016 in Lima, Peru:

This costume was originally created and designed by the

world class Filipino Designer : Edwin Uy.
The original theme is " The Golden Philippine Eagle Warrior. "

However, Limuel narrated:

“There was an incident of delayed oversized baggage (golden wings and shield were inside ) in Lima ,Peru. So, with that pressure I need to think outside the box and I found a blue cape that will give more attraction to the costume then it came out like Mandirigmang Datu Maharlika.”

National Costume for Mister Golden Universe 2016

NATIONAL COSTUME

The national costume is designed by MIKEE SANGCO. Inspired by the rich culture of the Igorots. The designer believes that the patterns and fabric used by the Igorots are both unique; something that we can visually say “Truly Filipino”. Twisting the design by incorporating, merging and fusing traditional Igorot culture and modern Philippines in this costume. The traditional “BAHAG” combined with the over-sized capes and coats of modern society, that may also be interpreted as royalty is simply a work of art. The designer also believes that nations should see the richness of the country in natural resources. Thus, embellishments made of gold, wood, handmade fabric made of indigenous materials. And of course,in art. The patterns we’re all inspired by the fabric. The strong colors and combinations of red, yellow, white, green, black and brown is a harmony perfected with the touch of wood and gold embellishments. The sphere as a final touch represents our strength. Our will to win any battle that comes the way of our great nation. It represents superiority.

Mister Golden Universe will be held in Manaus, Brazil on May 25 to 29, 2016.
