PAUL PABLO DE JESUS OF
BATAAN
GINOONG FILIPINAS 1990
On May 5, 1990, the first Ginoong Filipinas search was held
with two explosive judges that made the event a pleasure to watch. No less than
the Philippines’ two Miss Universe winners Gloria Diaz and Margarita Moran
graced the pageant night as judges. Paul Pablo de Jesus of Pilar, Bataan won
the title. Paul’s victory was phenomenal that many young men entertained the
idea of joining Ginoong Filipinas. He went to the US as part of his prize and
eventually settled there with his family.

JAYSON COLLIS OF PAMPAGA
GINOONG FILIPINAS 2002
2002 was not a very good year for the pageant. Ginoong
Filipinas was stormed by controversies as it was accused negatively by bitter
applicants who badly wanted to win. The pageant was saved upon the enthronement
of the new and handsome Ginoo from Pampanga, Jayson Collis who got the nod of
the judges on the pageant night. He entered into showbusiness and eventually
became part of the group Hotmen of Viva Films.

ERIC MAGLAGUI OF TARLAC
GINOONG FILIPINAS 2003
Despite the bevy of
well-built and amazonic candidates in Ginoong Filipinas 2003, a not-so-tall
candidate from Tarlac won the approval of the judges and the audience. Gifted
with a pleasant face, Eric Maglagui owned every part of the competition. His
confidence made all the difference!

CEPTER AL-MIGUEL MANICLANG
OF PANGASINAN
GINOONG FILIPINAS 2008
Still one of the most
active Ginoong Filipinas winner in the male pageant industry today, Cepter
Al-Miguel was a heavy favorite from the beginning. With flawless mestizo
complexion packed with a robust body, Cepter was just so perfect for the title.
He triumphed against heavy favorites like Ryan Dungo (who became an indie actor
later on), Jimmy Dionisio (another male pageant veteran) and Carlo Morris
Galang who eventually went on to become Manhunt Philippines 2010 and now the
national director of Manhunt International Philippines. At present, Cepter
remains very visible in the male pageantry industry. Recently, he won Mister
Sexy Manila 2013. If we have to give him an award, it should be the Longevity
Award because he managed to stay in competition, and he still wins.

RICHARD JOSEPH GUANTERO OF
QUEZON PROVINCE
GINOONG FILIPINAS 2009
Good-boy-looking
Richard Joseph Guantero from Quezon Province, a registered nurse from Lucena
City easily charmed the judges on the final night of Ginoong Filipinas 2009. It
was a year where the winners from the Manila pageants leading to the national
competition did not show up in the
finals. The assignment of number also suffered that year because there are
those who joined the photo shoot who did not show up on the finals. Despite the
loophole, Ginoong Filipinas chose a very deserving and rightful winner.

MARK CYRILL KATADA OF CEBU
GINOONG FILIPINAS 1995
The second Cebuano to win
the Ginoong Filipinas title, Mark Cyrill Katada already created some buzz as
soon as he arrived in Manila for the national finals. An ex-seminarian, he
immediately became an interesting candidate. Behaved but confident, his
good-boy-image became his advantage over all the others.
